Terms of Service

1. About the Service

Once Upon (onceupon.gift) is an online service operated by COTR Global Group Ltd (UK) that creates personalised, AI-generated children's storybooks delivered as PDF files. By placing an order you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from Once Upon. By completing a purchase you confirm that you are of legal age to enter into a binding contract.

3. Payment

All prices are displayed in GBP (£) inclusive of any applicable taxes. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Once Upon is a one-time purchase service — there are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or hidden fees. You will be charged once at the point of checkout.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you are not satisfied with your book for any reason. To request a refund, email hello@onceupon.gift with your order reference. Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

After the 7-day window, refunds are at our discretion and will only be considered in cases of technical failure on our part (e.g. the book was never delivered due to a system error).

5. Acceptable Use

When using Once Upon you agree not to:

• Request content that is offensive, violent, sexually explicit, hateful, or otherwise harmful.
• Include the likeness of a real person (other than the child the book is being made for) without that person's explicit consent.
• Use the service for commercial redistribution or resale of generated books without our written permission.
• Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or misuse the generation systems.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders that violate these guidelines, with a full refund issued.

6. Intellectual Property

Upon successful payment, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive licence to use, print, and share the generated book for private, non-commercial purposes. You may print copies for personal use or as a gift. You may not sell, sublicence, or publicly distribute the book without our consent.

Once Upon and COTR Global Group Ltd retain all rights to the underlying generation technology, platform, and brand. The generated story content itself is owned by you for personal use as described above.

7. AI-Generated Content

Stories and illustrations are created using AI models. While we apply prompts and filters to produce age-appropriate, positive content, AI generation is not infallible. If you receive content you find unsuitable, please contact us immediately and we will regenerate or refund your order.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, COTR Global Group Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that order.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

9. Service Availability

We aim to deliver completed books within minutes of payment. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. third-party AI service outages) delivery may be delayed. If your book has not been delivered within 24 hours, please contact us and we will resolve the issue or issue a full refund.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to that order. We will post the revised date at the top of this page whenever terms are updated.
